Vacancy Description

The Mary Ann Evans Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative individual to support a cross functional team. The Hospice is a happy place to work but due to the nature of their work the successful candidate will need to have a positive and mature outlook on life.

The role will require the successful applicant to be willing to learn a full range of administration duties so strong communication skills and a friendly, sensitive attitude is a must for this role.

During the apprenticeship you will learn how to:
• Undertake general administration duties including filing and processing information
• Create posters and signs
• Process invoices and input data into spreadsheets
• Order stationery and items for our shops
• Print and prepare paperwork for meetings
• Open and distribute post
• Taking and making telephone calls
• Help to ensure reception area is covered
• Take donations over the phone or face to face

Entry Requirements

GCSE A – C Grades in Maths, English and ICT or equivalent

AS/A’ Level/BTEC in business an advantage but not essential


To be an Apprentice Administration Assistant you will need to have:
• Good computer skills – Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
• Good written, verbal and numeracy skills
• Good attention to detail
• Confident telephone manner
• Ability to be creative and innovative
• The ability to work on own initiative and independently on projects

You should already have/be:
• Ability to deal with people from all walks of life
• Customer focused
• Polite and friendly
• Reliable and honest
• Ability to take instruction and work to deadlines
• Confident and ambitious
• Team player
